37signals Gig Board or visit the Job Board

We’re building a social media website for women seeking authenticity and self-awareness. In many ways we’re appealing to the LOHAS market (more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LOHAS), and our plan includes elements of social networking and social shopping.

Today our website contains virtually nothing of this vision. We’re at the concept stage, we’ve defined the functionality we want and now we need a brilliant designer to translate the vision into an intelligent, intuitive and simple interface. We’re looking for someone who’s done this before, preferably for a successful social site; all the better if it was a truly beautiful site for successful, intelligent women…

Our book, Style Statement, will be in stores in April and we expect significant PR including features and interviews on high profile TV talk shows. Which in turn means millions of potential visitors we need to engage and keep engaged.

We’re based in beautiful Vancouver, Canada and expect that at first you’ll be somewhere else. We’re open to a short-term contract to get things going and a long-term, long distance relationship if that works for everyone.

Initially our requirements mean approximately four-to-six weeks.
