37signals Gig Board or visit the Job Board

We are a group of 3 experienced entrepreneurs who are building a next generation online shopping application. We are looking for a talented developer to build a production-ready alpha of the site. It’s a 2-3 month contract with a view towards full time employment, if desired.

We’re looking for someone to handle the technical development of this app from soup to nuts. Specifically we’d want you…

...to be very familiar with Ruby on Rails (or a mainstream PHP rapid development framework such as CakePHP) and MySQL (prefer to work in a different platform? Apply anyway – a strong developer is more important to us than platform selection.)

...to be experienced as a webmaster (no hardware operations skills needed – just server setup and admin).

...to have strong HTML, Javascript and CSS experience (but no need to have design skills)

...to have single-handedly built consumer internet apps

We are looking for talented individuals only, preferably US-based. Consulting firms need not apply.

We have a strong product and user experience focus, but non-technical backgrounds (that’s where you come in.) We believe that providing the best user experience is the ultimate competitive advantage and path to success. We’re based in the Bay Area, but have a lot of experience working with remote teams.
