37signals Gig Board or visit the Job Board

Looking for an independent design contractor for approx 1 month gig. Strongly prefer an independent contractor to an agency, though we will consider design agencies.

Make your mark on a blue-chip start-up, led by some of the Valley’s finest (behind names like Yahoo, Facebook, AOL, MySpace, Amazon, eBay, JDate, StubHub, and more).

Our site is currently in Private Beta, so you’ll be able to make a big mark on it prior to our public launch! It’s an awesome (and socially righteous) idea, helping to re-invent the way high school kids learn.

Must be:

• very strong on interaction design / UI / navigation etc for an expansive web site
• very strong illustrator
• an all-around mind-blowingly awesome designer

Bonus points:

• fun, cool, quirky, good natured, passionate about education. we are too.
• has designed for teen or college-aged audiences
• flash
• brand communications or advertising experience

Task-specific responsibilities:

• UI development
• Product tours, tips, help etc
• Marketing materials, one-sheeters, PPTs etc
• Brand assets, illustration

Location:

• Sunnyvale, CA
• Must be able to visit our office in person at least a few times per week. Prefer someone who can be here in person most of the time during the project.
