CSS Stylist

Company: Small Web Firm
Location: Anywhere
Time frame: Hopefully ongoing

We’re looking for a graphic designer with CSS skills to assist in the development and maintenance of small, brochure-type websites. Hopefully this will be an ongoing gig of about 5 to 10 hours per week.

We’ll need you to add design elements to new and existing websites to improve visual interest and usability. This would involve mocking up designs in Photoshop and then translating them to the web using clean, semantic markup and CSS, selecting font stylings, creating custom icons or working with stock illustrations and photographs, positioning elements, etc.

From time to time we also need help translating complete site mockups from Photoshop into XHTML templates again using clean, semantic markup and CSS.

You’ll have a strong eye for design and also be familiar with image replacement techniques, box model hacks, browser variations and you probably hate IE6. It would be a bonus if you are familiar with Wordpress and PHP. We work during EST business hours so it would be helpful if you are available during those times, but not essential.

If you’re interested, please drop us a line with some information about yourself, some examples of your work and your target hourly rate. Thanks.
